One of my greatest pleasures in life is making dinner, drinking wine, listening to good music and talking with my friends and family. All at the same time! Out of the Ordinary is going to be like that. Recipes; ideas about tastes that go together in an exciting fashion; music to listen to you while you cook; music about cooking; and any other thing that catches my magpie eye.

Hey there, I’m a big fan of your blog! I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award, check it out at the link below. Keep up the great work.

Cheers!
Thank you so much!! I’d never heard of the award. I’ll have a look.
Thank you!
I found your blog by “falling down the rabbit hole” of food blogs – clicking from one to the next to the next. I haven’t made any of your recipes yet but I wanted to let you know how much I love reading your stories and listening to the songs you post for each recipe! I’ve been telling my boyfriend about your blog for the past couple of weeks and about how excited I am to try some of your recipes, particularly the ones that involve baking a bread or pastry. We also joined a CSA for the first time this year and so many of your recipes are very timely for me since they’re based around the seasonal veggies that we’re getting. Thank you for your lovely blog!
Thank you so much! It made my day to read this. I spend a lot of time on this silly blog (too much, probably) and it’s so nice to hear that it appealed to someone. Thank you!
Yep, like Amanda R. ^^^ up there, I fell down the rabbit hole too. Great blog and I’ve pinned it. Cheers from the bottom of the world
Thank you so much! You’re so kind! I love the idea of The Ordinary as a rabbit hole.
Hello from Portugal! I just left a comment on one of your posts that basically repeats the sentiments of readers above. But, just in case you don’t see it… This is the best written food blog I have come across — in fact I don’t think it really IS a food blog — rather it is a beautifully and generously written meditation on the things that matter — including food
Congratulations — and please don’t stop ‘spending too much time’ on it… now that I’ve found it, I don’t want it to stop!
thanks so much. I’ve been oddly discouraged the last couple of days, for no particular reason, and it was like a tonic reading your comment!!
And we hope to go to Portugal someday!! It looks so beautiful!
Lovely blog
Have you read any of Bryant Terry’s vegan cook books? He also gives play lists for his recipes.
